This is me and my daughter, Jennie, back in 2000, when both of us had been newly chosen as skating instructors at the figure skating club we belonged to. The quote on the left pertains to how as happy as we were to be "promoted", our least favorite thing to do was *practice*. We loved having our lessons with our coaches, Cathy, Paula, Karen, Gail and Nancy -- but as far as practice -- we HATED it. But every week, five times PER week, we laced our skates up together, went out there and did it anyway. I coached Jennie and then Jennie coached me. We learned tons from each other and shared many faceplants, tears and belly laughs along the way. And the biggest thing we got out of all of it was not skating knowledge (although that came along too), but a really strong family bond that we still cherish to this day. Thanks SO much for looking!
