I totally understand the fear of the dentist. I've had a LOT of dental work in my life....and I still hate to go to the dentist!! LOVE the layout...that circle is awesome! Is that in the QK online store?
What a great idea to scrap this. You should not feel bad about your teeth as a child, since many dentists will now say that a lot of issues with teeth are genetic rather than environmental- so blame those soft spots on a distant ancestor. LOL! I totally get what you mean about incompetent dentists now that I have a really good one. You work is beautiful and TFS.
Sian, it's a good thing I was sitting in my chair when I read your hilarious story! I don't like the dentist much either (to this day!). I roared reading what Madeleine said; so funny! Love your vivid colours and darling details!
Adorable layout! I love the funny journaling. The circle with the vines on it is impressive too. (I share your fear of dentists. I didn't have it as a kid, but I sure do now.)
Oh.....you poor thing! I ABHOR the dentist myself so I totally understand. This is a great lo considering how much you dislike the subject. It's so bright and cheery you may just change someone's mind about the dentist :)
awesome...cute story ...and you'd never know by the pic that you were just as freaked out as your DD! LOVE that circle that you cut with your Silouette!
Madeleine's first trip to the dentist. I guess that I should preface this by saying that I am absolutely TERRIFIED of the dentist. To put a context to this statement, I'd rather give birth than go to the dentist...seriously! As a child, I had a very poor dentist who hurt me frequently (I'm hard to freeze...who knew?). We were never allowed any kind of junk food when I was a child, but my teeth are very soft and have deep grooves, so I had to endure some very difficult and stressful fillings. At any rate, it is especially important to me that I do not pass this fear of the dentist on to my daughters. I feel like a six year old again, every time I get in that chair!
Madeleine is now three, so we took her for her first appointment and she was freaked out by the chair...wouldn't sit in it, didn't want to operate it (the hygenist asked her if she'd like to take a spin with the controls) and was just generally not comfortable (no surprise really. I think the dentist's office can be a little overwhelming for a three year old). Didi took a picture, and there's me trying to look calm and collected when the very thought of being in that chair makes my skin crawl. You can see that Madeleine was less than impressed, but she did eventually let them count her teeth and even do a little flossing!
The journaling on the tag says: Madeleine's first time at the dentist, March 9th, 2010.
