maggie, I am so jealous that you got to meet tim. He really does seem like a great guy. He does do amazing things and all of your tags are so beautiful . It is amazing what you can do to a tag. great job and I am glad that you got to meet him and be taught by him. I love his stuff so much and I want to buy so much more of it. so hard to prioritize what to get first though. My first thought is always paper and flower... I do really want to get that bird cage from sizzix, i love it. thanks for sharing.
Beautiful, Beautiful!! i love it that you are now calling him "Tim"!!!!! Too cute! The birdcage is especially beautiful...I suppose the 'aged wood' would have looked different with different colors but it still turned out way cool!
OMG! I am such a Tom Holtz fan, and just love that bird cage idea, putting this in my favs for future reference, we don't have classes like that here where we are...LOL!!!!!!! Annnd to actually get to meet him too! Lucky you and TFS!
omg okay so the bird cage n this butterfly one is now my favorite you made a bunch of awesomness at this class you lucky lucky girl n you got to meet tim holtz !!!!! im SOOOOOOO Jelouse!!!!next time your bringing me!!!
Tag #9 is the "butterfly" tag that we used inks & the rock candy stickles that made the whole thing crackle. The last tag (birdcage) was really neat. It's made out of grungepaper and you just take silver paint dabber (these are awesome) and just pounce on the color and it gives it that aged metal look. We took the bird and inked the edges and adhered that to the tag. The tag is suppose to look like #weathered wood" it's a neat effect but I chose the wrong colors for it. Then we attached the little metal disk with a ring to the cage and adhered the cage with that red tape (really strong)first one side, bent it a little and adhered the other side so it looks 3d. They gave us a 12x12 canvas to take home and distress then add all these tags to it to make a complete lo. I still have to do that but when I'm finished with that and attach all the tags I'll post that too. I can't tell you how much fun I had doing this class. If you ever have the opportunity...go for it! Tim is a great guy and was a good sport. he must have posed for over 50 photos with different people in the class.
