She's as pretty as a princess and looks darling to me in her pirate patch. This is an important milestone to scrap, I think, and I love your positive spin on this, which must have been a difficult time. Your journaling is so heartfelt. I also appreciate pages that incorporate a lot of visible journaling. Very well done.
This lo is special to us. It's the first picture of my dauchter wearing her eye patch. She has a lazy eye were the muscles are too loose allowing her eye to turn in too much towars her nose. The journalling says:
A new journey begins: At the beginning of August 2009 we made our first trip to London to see the specialist. That's when we learned that Laney is legally blind in her left eye. Her brain has told her eye to shut off in order not to see double. So she will need to wear an eye patch to cover her good eye and strengthen the weak eye. Unfortunately it will need to be patched every day for 6 hours or more. Even worse - she will need surgery. Until then she will get to play the role of the Pirate Princess
This lo was made for the April doodle challenge - doodling scallops. The scallops are doodled off to the right of the journalling. The real challenge for me this time around though was journalling! I hate it, but because this experience has been so huge for us, the lo deserved it. She had the surgery in early March this year and is still wearing the patch but only for 3-4 hours a day now
