Karen what a wonderful story! It is true that dogs do grief over the loss of a companion - I have witnessed it in my own home. You have done a wonderful job with this lo. Great job!!!
What a great page and a great story too. excellent colours-love the chipbords and the details! Wonderfull pictures. I am a big animal lover- own 3 rescue dogs plus 3 cats( and birds and gerbils)and I do love the fact that you combined a heartwarming story with a great layout.
funny. Out of my 3 dogs, there is one that loves to protect his food. And if you give him a treat. He watches the other two eat their treat then he just sits there with his acting all cool cuz he has a treat and they don't. Dogs are too funny.
Very cute! Love how you captured the story with the pics! Reminded me of a dog I had as a child, he guarded his food bowl from humans but let the cat eat out of it!
Oh, what a joy to look at your pages, Karen! You pulled color directly from the pics and used it well in the LO. NICE pattern mix too. LOve the rounded corners and dbl matting. FUN title work, and such a cute detail to put Hanna's name on the food bowl. Your fondness for beloved pets just shines on each page you do! :)
This is Hanna, the elder and senior citizen of my friend Robin's pack. Hanna is sweet, gentle, affectionate, and set in her ways. Her own littermate and sister, Sabrina, fell ill very suddenly and Robin's family made the difficult decision to let her go. Hanna's grief was as deep as their own. She cried and looked for Sabrina every time she entered the house.
When the family decided to rescue Heidi and Susie from the puppy mill, they worried about Hanna's reaction. True to form, Hanna welcomed the puppies and has done her best to adapt to their energy and sometimes annoying behavior. The puppies, in turn, ADORE Hanna, and always want to lick her face and be near her.
Hanna is very tolerant of their antics, but the one thing she cannot abide is if the pups get too close to her food bowl. In the first photo, Hanna "scolded" Susie to back off after she got too close. Both pups are very submissive to Hanna and literally bow down to her and hit the floor! It's so comical to watch. Hanna is the Queen.
Journaling says: Hanna is very tolerant of the two puppies. One thing she can't abide, however, is if they get too close to her bowl. She scolds them -- loudly!
Thanks for looking! Karen
Products used: I printed the photos on white cardstock because I was out of photo paper. I ended up liking the effect and used them!
