What a great layout, love the doodling and the shoe pic hahaha,...great layout with very innovative journaling, love the whole page and sure he will as well.
I have to say this ROCKS. I love the dr. seuss feel to the whole page...with the doodles around the edges, how you did the quote and love the shoe print stickers. I got that book from my boss for college graduation so I need to do this type of layout to. And I love that you took a picture of their shoes!
This is such a wonderful, joyful graduation page! Favs~ With the graduation of my sweet dd looming in June '11, I am particularly drawn to this fun LO. Karen, the candid photos are GREAT! LOVE the cropped shoe photo...yes, it does give a small glimpse into each grads personality! What an innovative concept for you to include. I love the font...it is perfect. The doodling frames the page nicely. Creative title work and journaling. This page will be a nice finish to his childhood album....generous of you to give this to Michele. I am sure Eric will enjoy sharing this with his future family! The footprints are a cute detail!
Oh, what a thoughtful thing to do, Karen! I know Eric's mom wil lbe touched receiving this marvelous layout of this important milestone! Beautifully done!
LOVE the title and the journaling! very apt! I loved reading your story behind this too...very touching! I bet his mum shed a tear or two....I know I would have! fabulous layout!
Many years ago, I started an album for my friend, Michele. She was a single mom raising her only child, Eric. I've known Eric most of his life and it was fun to do his childhood album. I came across these pictures the other day of his high school graduation and thought I would scrap them to complete his album. Eric has now graduated from college, so it's about time!
I thought it was comical that the kids' unique shoe choices were so representative of them, and I had to get a panoramic shot. The graduates gave white roses to their moms while the song "You Raised Me Up" by Josh Groban was played. I love the photo I got of Eric hugging Michele. It was a real hug, not the typical teenage boy hug. Eric was Valedictorian and received many honors, so it was a proud day for all of us.
I am submitting this LO for Kathy's (Scrap-Police) Quote Challenge for April. I thought the quote by Dr. Seuss was perfect for this page. I had given Eric the book, "Oh, the Places You'll Go" for one of his graduation gifts.
Thanks for looking! Karen
I printed the title off the Internet, enlarging the image of a game box to get the right size letters. I then outlined them in black for dimension. I also printed a copy of the book. Used some footprint stickers by Sticko just for fun!
