I took a pic of myself on my birthday. Unfortunately it wa the same day of my mother in law's funeral. My birthday was sort of a non-event, but I thought I should document it anyway. I used greens and oranges in the lo; although they appear faded in the photo. I cut out flowers and used a paper punch on the patterned paper. The orange circle is actually the face of a clock. The journaling reads, "Sixty years old. I can hardly believe it. I look in the mirror and cannot believe that the person I see is really me. I feel like I am young at heart but then again I feel like I am really ancient at other times. My priorities have changed so much since my twenties. I no longer care to impress anyone now. I get great satisfaction from my inner self and the simple things of life. I do like my laptop, ipod and HD TV, but I am satisfied to sit on the deck and watch the birds or just appreciate the beauty of nature. I have two wonderful children and live a happy life with Fielding. We are not rich in material things, but are blessed in many ways. I look forward to the years ahead and have comfort in the knowledge that we will all reside in heaven in the years to come. Life is good.
