That photo is a treasure! I'm curious if it's the original because of that wide white border with a wavy edge! I have some older photos printed like that. I can imagine how excited you were to find out your sister had the dolls! OMGOSH! Jen, you are a master at crafting vintage pages....every element is significant and beautiful. That frame around the doll photo is gorgeous. I'm always excited to see what you did with your title...and this one is FANTASTIC!
Wow ! That photo is soooo amazing and I love all elements on this page, esp. the little frame with those dolls, the little fence with the roses ! Fantastic work !
What a delight! The photo is priceless~ LOVE that you included the clapping song quote....perfect! Nice frames, love the black accents too. The stitching and distressing add texture and interest. :)
What a precious photo...so glad you still have your dolls in the family. Love the layout with all the vintage looking stuff. One tiny doll of mine survived my childhood...I had 2 little brothers so most of our dolls became victims.
Jennifer, vintage is my favorite kind of scrapping and you have done a fantstic job on this one. Love how you snuck in a little WP but yet it doesn't dominate the LO. What a cutie pic of you and your sissters! I still have some of my most cherished dollies as well!
So sweet, that you have this pic and love how you are all dressed the same. I think kids have too many toys these days, mine do and they hardly play with any of them! What a fantastic lo, love that big flower and the little fence!!
I have a massive doll P*H*O*B*I*A ... especially the kind with the eyeslids that open and close when you tilt the doll. This however, is a very nice page to archive!
Love, Love!! Slide down my cellar door.....playmate come out and play with me!!! I used to sing that song too, Mom taught me to sing it when I washed my dollies clothes!!! Your LO is gorgeous!
Oh gosh Jen!! SOOOO adorable! I know that little song too! YICKS! So great the dolls are still around too. Love the stick pin:) the little fence, flowers, cardboard and all the little stitching on here and detail. Wonderful lo and love the little baubles, I have them too, just haven't used them yet!!! kathy
my 3 lil cuties arent you and very very adorable design and such a great lil piece of journalling,my your lil fence and dainty lil flowers look awesome
OMG - this lo could not be more suited for that GREAT photo. all of the wonderful little details, the song, the new photo of the dolls - it's all PERFECT. a true TREASURE!!!
Great layout. Love the photo and amazing that your sister still has the dolls for the present day photo. Remember the song! 3 girls, 1 year apart! What nice memories. Like all the little frames, stitching and corrugated cardboard.
what a terrific page and special memory to capture, and it must have been especially nice to add the new pic of the dolls!!So many possessions like that get lost over time.
These 3 little girls show my sisters & me (clockwise:Marianne 4,Jennifer 5, Kathryn 3) holding our dolls and standing in the doorway of our trailer in Minneapolis, Minn. 1953. We are in matching outfits and my mother made the clothes for the dolls. The dolls are from the previous Christmas and greatly treasured. Most children did not have an abundance of toys but what we did have we have we loved! Imagine my delight when I phoned my sister Kathryn & told her what picture I was scrapping and she said she had the dolls! She emailed me a photo to include. I added the lyrics from the children's clapping song "Oh Playmate" by Saxie Dowell which came out in 1940. I thought the line "dollies 3" fit perfectly! TFL! jen
