You know this is one of my favorite color combos. I love red & teal together. Your title work on this is awesome, as is your journaling. Such a wonderful page. Oh, and happy belated NSD. I didn't get to celebrate it since I was celebrating my journey north instead. :)
I'm so sorry for the late post ~ What a wonderful theme (looks like all of us "Grandma's" had the same idea)!! I always enjoy reading your journaling...and I'm sure in years to come, they will too! I Love how you used the bright red and as always, your design is perfection!
This is so cute - great job on the journaling - and I love the flowers - are the centers punched or drawn on??? Very cute! Great mix of colors too - goes so well with the photos! Very Cute Page!
Susan you are the best at journaling on your LO's. These are such heartfelt words, I know your grandchildren are going to cherish these pages as they grow older. Love your bright colors on this LO.
Oh wow...you did do an amazing job on this layout. I love all the handcut flowers. They add the perfect touch to your LO. And you do have beautiful grandchildren.
Oh Sue.. this is so pretty!!! I love the pics of your grandkids and colors are wonderful. But, most of all.. I love the journaling!!! Your children and grandchildren have the most beautiful albums to look thru and remember all times they had!
Oh WOW!!! I love this!!! perfection..so mad I couldn't participate, my camera broke and there was no way for me to get the photo of the page to the web.whaaaa!!!
So worth the time and effort, Susan! This is very special. Your kids and grandkids are BLESSED to have you as the family historian...and in such a fun and creative way. Everyone benefits from our addic.....hobby!
This layout was for the all day challenge for NSD, and it has taken me almost all day to get it done! LOL
I used MME - Dreamy 2 collection for the layout. These are photos that I took New Years night. We had six of the grandchildren here and this was the best pics we got. It's really difficult to get everyone to smile at the same time! DUH! I hand cut the shaped piece from a template, then cut a small piece with the white to break it up a bit. THe photos are mounted on white cardstock. I drew the swirl to fit the area that I wanted to put the title in...then cut it out (it works best if you draw it on plain white paper and cut it until you get the size you want). The flowers are all cut from the same line of paper. Some of the flowers are on pop dots and I added bling centers - just needed a little sparkle!
I did this for NSD...but I also feel that it's important that my kids and grandkids know WHY I scrap. Journaling reads:
I know you sometimes wonder why I spend so many hours in my scrapbooking room. The reason I do is so that I can record the memories we've made together. Not just the good times and all the pretty pictures, but the sad times and the not-so-pretty photos. Now that my mother (your great-grandmother) is in her 80s, she doesn't always remember who the people are in the photos that she has stored in shoeboxes. I want you (my children and grandchildren) to be able to flip through these albums one day and remember the fun we had together. I want to tell the story of who we are and what we did, so that you can share theses stories with your children and grandchildren. I really enjoy the creative side of scrapbooking, but it's really all about the memories.
