For the NSD All day Challenge. Why I scrapbook. Hidden journaling under the flowery paper on the right side of the page reads:
Scrapbooking mends bridges, heals my heart and touches my soul. The first time I truly understood the power of a scrapbook was Mother's Day 2005. I made a scrapbook for my Mother-In-Law. I did it in the style of giving a voice to my 40 year old sister in law who has the mental capacity of a 1 year old. I documented all of the things that I know she would say to my Mother-in-Law if she could. As my Mother-in-Law opened and began to read it, she broke down in tears. She cherishes that book and shows it to everyone.

I later made a page thanking my father for all of his involvement in my life. He also broke down in tears as he read it. My Mother told me later that up until that moment, he had feared that I thought he was a failure as a father.

Last but not least, after my Mother passed, I made a layout to begin the healing process of my heart. I documented things about her that I never wanted to forget. I told her all the things I wish I had while she was alive.

We all scrapbook because we want to remember. I scrapbook because I never want to forget.
