Scrapbook.com challenged us to do a layout about why we scrapbook. I worked on this layout on and off all day and missed the deadline for the challenge, but here's my layout anyway. The hidden journalling reads:
Scrapbook.com challenged us to creat a layout which explains why I scrapbook, This is my layout andre's why I scrap.
I scrap because art is WHO I am. Yes, I'm a mother, a wife...
I'm a daughter, sister and even a grandmother now.
And I'm a friend, a corporate wage earner, and a lover.
These are all the things that define the life I've built so far...
The fact that I have raised two successufl, well adjusted children and another is just stepping into the world to find her way too; the fact that I have countless lifelong frineds and am closest to my family...
these are the things that define my life thus far.
But ART...art is who I am. Ever since I can remember, I've been dreaming in pastels and chalks, daydreaming in colors, textures and mediums. My thoughts are crowded by visions of sharpened pencils, crisp paper and images yet to be drawn, colored, sketched or painted.
If art is acting, i want to act.
If it's dance, give me the costume so I can put it on.
I've done both on stage and loved every exhilarating, scary moment of it.
If art is photography, give me a zoom lens.
Scrapbooking is the explosion of my right-brain,
it has taken my creative spirit and brought it home...
I scrapbook because ART is my obsession...
Art, it's who I am.
