Wow I am impressed of how much creative thought went into crafting this page and it is so worth it! It turned out really fun and interesting to look at, its hard to stop! :) Great picture, he looks like he is ready for fun!
So vibrant and great to look at! I love all the detail in this right down to the stitching....have I mentioned I'm jealous that you do that? lol
Superb job. Love it!
oh my goodness I love this!!!! I love the strips of pp and the fun little stickers! this is so adorable!! I love the way you use your souffle pens!! so cool, this lo is so cool and I love the chipshapes I was going to ask who made them but I read they were older so cute!!
This is a lo I did for the "May - Use your Scraps!! " Challenge. ( Use at least 85% scraps, and don’t forget about all those odd sized leftovers of ribbon, or those half used alpha sticker sheets, etc. The base paper can be new if it has to be.)
For the background of this, I took two scraps that when butted together made a 12x12. I took a third piece of scrap pp (the stripes) and adhered that over the seam to hold it all together.
I took an old diecute paper frame and covered it with torn strips of red pp. I had leftovers of the torn strips, so I cut those into about 1/4 strips and placed them over the seams of the blue pp's and around the edges of the page. The frame seemed a little blah, so I found some rub-on stars from an old sheet of calendar rubons and placed those randomly on the frame. It still seemed a little blah, so I did some stitching around the outside and inside of the frame (the thread was old, but not really a "scrap"). I used some more leftover rubons from various sheets and added the "happy" to the frame, the "you" to the pic and the date to the frame. I outlined the "happy You" with a white pen and used colorful souffle pens to add a little interest to the "You".
I found a colorful scrap of pp and cut the designs from it and placed four of them around the page. I thought I couldn't cut out the swirly "tails" very well, so I stitched the same kind of design onto the page. I added the star brads just for fun. I used a variety of alphas to add ds's name to the page and used a scrap of ribbon on the "T" and adhered it with a brad. I also stitched through the chipboard button that I used as the "o". I traced around the letter with a black pen, then went over that with a white pen, because I thought the black was too bold for the page.
The lion was from an old set of chipboard that I have. The other chipboard tags/words are from various sets of chipboards that I've had over the years. The ribbon on the "go" tag and on the pic frame are from my scrap jar.
Ds's initials are "TGO", so just for fun, I added a chipboard "t" to a brad and added it to the "go" tag so that it would have a double meaning. I applied clear glass finish to the chipboard "t".
All of the paper and ribbons on this page is from my scraps. The rubons, alphas and chipboard could all be considered to be scraps by a lot of people, but I consider them part of my stash LOL ..however, they are the remainder of sets or kits that I bought a while ago, so I'll call them "scraps" for this challenge. LOL
