~Hidden Journaling: (So Funny! Best Part Of LO)

When we first moved into the house it was an Ohio October, so we had no idea what our landscape would really look like. Fall was in full affect and you were already safely bundled up underground, well prepared for your long winters nap. Even after the snows had all melted away you stayed hidden…we could almost hear you saying sleepily “just five more minutes Momma Spring”. Not so for your big brother. Early on he pushed his arms thru the soil and towards the sun, showing off like the over-achiever he is. We obviously made a point to avoid harming him but in doing so I see that we mistreated you quite severely. Your appearance point lies smack in between your brother and Old Man Bush, so on uncounted occasions you were trodden upon by both human and canine feet. We never took the time to look down and see your fingers wiggling up thru the dirt, trying to get the slightest of holds so you could pull the rest of yourself to the surface. By the time we did see that you had officially arrived your brother was so much bigger we were afraid our mistreatment may have stunted your growth, and our hearts went out to you. We made special time to visit you each day, trained our canine threat to steer clear of you, and before we knew it you had become a full fledged plant. Without even knowing what you really are we still look forward to seeing what you will become when you reach your full plant potential. We again apologize for any harm we may have caused you and would like to present you with our 2010 Hidden Beauty Award. Thank you for choosing our porch to grow beside and our lives to enrich. Oh, and please don't rub this award in your brothers face…he's still a little upset about the kind of attention the canine is now giving him!
