The pics are from 1993 when the brigade hosted a Family Day while they were in the field training.
I used a button and a name/Army tape (can't think of what it's really called right now LOL) from dh's uniform. I used the green colors because of the Army, but used the flowers to give the idea of the wife and children. :D I stitched a border around the page for more texture. The pp's I used for the flowers, flourishes, photo corners, and mat were fern patterns, just because I thought that was fun for a woodsy environment. (Yes, I know..you really can't tell it's there, but it makes me happy!)
To makethe flowers, I used some K&Co flowers as patterns and I then cut them out of the fern papers. Then I used a paint brush and brushed the backs with some water to and the fronts with some watered down acrylic paint (Adirondack - Pesto) to help 'rumple' the paper, then I crumpled them and straightened them back out leaving a lot of the texture. After they dried, I stacked the different sizes and adhered them with a black flower brad. added a dab of colorful paint to the center of each brad...dh thought I needed to pull the colors from the pics to the rest of the page, so I used the color there and on the large 'F' and 'D'.
The rose leaves that are peeking from behind the folded corner are from Distinctins in Nature, The Botanical Collection. My sister gave me pkgs of these several years ago...I have no idea where she found them.
