For my "Create Your Own Background Paper" Challenge at Swirlydoos. Bonnie's challenge was to use our scraps to create a base page and then build a LO onto it. I had the Prima rose paper left over from my daughter's wedding album. It had a pretty good sized hole in it, as well as being torn in half. I'd punched some flower petals out of the Graphic 45 paper, and there was only about a third of a sheet of it. I'd used the My Mind's Eye glitter paper on a project that I did at retreat this spring, but there wasn't really enough to cover, so I had to find a fourth paper, and discovered that I had a couple of torn strips of Prima from my Swirlydoos Butterfly Whispers kit left over. The colors are actually much brighter in real time.

Once I had my base paper done, I had to figure out what photo wanted to live there. My mom had sent me an envelope with a bunch of old pictures in it, and one of those was a proof from when Tom and I had our engagement announcement photos done in 1989. We were so young, full of hope and love and dreams, and looking forward to our future together.

We're not young anymore, but we still absolutely adore each other. He's my very best friend and I can't wait to see what the next 21 years bring!

All the paper is from my scrap box. The flowers are all Primas, the butterflies are just some fussy cut images from LunaGirl's butterflies CD. The chipboard is a "chunky" that I painted, then cracked with Crakle Medium and a second coat of thinned down paint. The Title card is by 7gypsies, and my glue of choice is Beacon's 3-in-one. It would weld an elephant to the ground. I love the stuff.
