Oh my goodness...that is the ugliest gorilla I have ever seen!!! LOL!! No wonder the girls were afraid of him...I would have been too....you did a great job of this book and it really is a beautiful gift to them...sure they loved it!! When I have more time I will be back to your gallery!!
I am sure your pastor will APPRECIATE the fact that you re-enacted just to get photos of this memory!
PS so glad you arent here in NC tomorrow with that suit!!!!!!! I would DIE!
Now this page has a good story! One day I was talking to Pastor and I knew it was his birthday, so, I asked him what he was doing for his big day. He replied with the simple answer of going out to dinner with his family to Apple Bee's (which is right down the street from both our houses). So, of C*O*U*R*S*E my brain was in over drive! I called my husband right away and asked him if he was up for some fun! We have a gorilla costume that we'll on occasion (yeah right) use to mess with people (in a good way). So the plan was for Donnie to walk into the restaurant in the gorilla costume with balloons in his hand and to sit down with the family … NOT TO SPEAK ONE SINGLE WORD!!! The story you can imagine was hysterical! The Geml girls were afraid of it, but Donnie played the part perfectly! For weeks Pastor talked about it at church and N*E*V*E*R knew who did it until one day our dd (6 yrs. old at the time) after chapel went up to him and said, “ Did you like my daddy in the gorilla costume?” If dd had not said anything, the only way he would have known it was my dh, would have been this scrap book … too bad it did not work out that way! Any event, my dh and I had to recreate the event to get these pictures, this is why they are not photographed.
(SCRAP BOOK SYNOPSIS: When we found out this past April-2010 our Senior Pastor of our church had accepted a call to a new church it was a bitter/sweet emotion for us. We were certainly happy for the new congregation, but we were really sad that our dear friends and shepherd were moving away. So, my dh and I threw a going away F*I*E*S*T*A for the Geml family and invited our “gang” for fun and fellowship. After a fajita dinner, dh and I presented the Geml's with a 30 page scrap book that I made for them. This was a tribute to their family, from our family on how much they really meant to us. We had an enjoyable evening of fellowship, food, good-tears, fun, games, and Margarita's!!!)
