I started this at SwirlyCamp and ran out of time. I ended up making a lot more layers for Tina (Tinamarier)'s Distress and Layer Challenge at Swirlydoos.

Tina's challenge comes in two parts: (1) a minimum of 6 layers, all of them distressed and (2) the twist: a handmade rose.

Including the cardstock on the bottom and the piece of pp that I used for the title, I count 10 layers.
The rose is amazingly easy to make when you follow the tutorial on Tina's blog: http://tina-mypaperpantry.blogspot.com/
I lifted the leaves from Lisa (Starsailorscrapper); check out http://what-a-beautiful-mess.blogspot.com/ for details. (I don't have the Core'dinations cs; I used some Bo Bunny from my pile.)
The distressing is due to Robin (Robinzbirdz), who taught me how.
Lots of distressing (love my new toy) and inking and misting, some Rock Candy on the roses near the frame, a few pieces of grunge, and some brads from my stash...

The title is from a song written in 1938. The version that runs in my head was recorded by Bobby Darin in 1961.

The beautiful baby is my father, taken when he was a year old.
