Now who thought that up? But I will say I would rather draw on fungus than eat it. Now who ever thought of eating something that grew out of rotting material??? TFS, very interesting
5-18-10...This is the underside of an Artist's Conk, a fungus found growing on dead/rotting trees. The fleshy white underside is used by artists as a medium to draw on, once the flesh is "marked or scratched" it turns brown showing the the artist's work. When it dries the art work becomes permanent. Some artists let the conk dry first then paint on it as they would a piece of canvas. Either way they are very unique pieces of art. [P5182974]
