Journalling reads: "Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris was a Parisien experience in itself. After we landed we taxied to an area where we were surrounded by EasyJet jets and sat for several minutes before a “staircase” was wheeled up to the plane for us to de-plane. Needless to say, at such a huge international airport I expected a real gate. I later learned on our return to London, that was the least of evils this airport had to offer.

After boarding a shuttle bus to the terminal, we then had to pass a police inspection before claiming our baggage. I handed the officer my passport and he looked it up and down. I thought I was being friendly by saying “bonjour” and “merci beaucoup”, but this officer looked on in disapproval each time I spoke. After that, we moved onto baggage claim and caught out airport shuttle to the hotel. What a weird and strange airport Charles De Gaulle is…"
