I totally stole the idea for the tri-fold card from Sgoetter. Hers is much more elegant than mine- you can find instructions how to make it on her blog.
I used pink cardstock and scraps of dark pink, red, white and black cardstock that match all the dots in the polka dot paper. The front of the card says "mom" and has a small cupcake in the center of a multi-layered circle. Inside is "meme" which is what the grandkids call her. Then I put little tags with "mentor", "teacher", and "friend" which describe our relationship. There are random circles and a "71" in the lower red circle. I stamped "Happy Birthday" on velum and attached it to the last page with brads.
The smear on the last page isn't really there... I was trying to digitally remove handwritten sentiments and my name... (you know, privacy stuff. Of course I could have taken the pic before I signed it but I always do everything backwards...)
I put dots around the edges of some of the regions but as you can tell, very few rulers were involved in the making of this card.
