its very pretty but this does not look like something an insect would do. make a straight cut across.... we had this happen to our pineapple plant after the neighbor got angry with us . can't prove it btu we knew what happened to them.

MINI JUNE...POD...3 Unreal...Oriental Poppy, cut stem

6-3-10...I found this sight a bit UNREAL, my Oriental Poppy's have been attacked by an unknown source...not sure if it is the work of an insect or something else. But the stem, about 4-6 inches from the pod, has been cut straight across, leaving it hanging upside down by a thread of "skin". The pods & leaves look like they would be sharp like a Thistle but they aren't, the "hairs" are coarse but very soft to the touch. [P6035092]
