HAAA. I still laugh out loud when I look at this photo!

During my "May Misting Month" I wanted to use masks for some of the layouts I created. By the way, this was one of the most enjoyable scrapbooking months I've had for a long time because I set a goal to do more and learn more about misting; and I did!

The Studio Calico collection I used in this layouts comes with a sheet of alphabet stickers (see them in the products below). I couldn't decide on a patterned paper to go with the floral on the right so I decided to make my own.

I used the sticky-backed cardstock that the sticker letters are attached to as my "mask" to form lettered paper. I left the stickers on the release paper--carefully removing the sticky cardstock "negative" which became my new and inexpensive "mask" for the letter-misted paper you see on the left-hand side of the page. I LOVE how it turned out and will definitely use this misting technique from now on. Because the cardstock "mask" seems to have a coating on it so it can be reused many, many more times in new and interesting ways.

I used a swath of cream paint under the words "hold hands" because the letters didn't stand out on the page when on the paper alone.

Go have some fun misting too. Thanks for looking.
