This is for a June challenged hosted at Swirlydoos. Meg's told us, "fussy cut." So I did. The Swirlydoos project kits are simply AMAZING, and this month I think Krissy outdid herself. The paper line is Ella Blue, and it has got to be the most scrumptious stuff I've ever played with.

I'm also going to enter this in the June's Distress It Challenge. I tried a new distressing technique - Robin's wet distressing, which she explained in the Swirly forums. I have to say, I really love the way it kicked my distressing up, not just a notch, or even a step, but a whole floor!

I'm also turning it in to the Do It Yourself Challenge. I made the mini roses and the big rose in the corner with the paper bag that packaged my Swirly embellishments. I've been working on these mini-roses - I use the five petal retro flower punch - and I think I've finally gotten the technique mastered! I love how these turned out!

It's also going to be my Week 3, Use Your Supplies Challenge. The challenge for this week was "bling." I was supposed to use two types or two colors of one time. The twist was to alter an item. I've used several types of bling here - the pearl flourishes, Diamond Dust on the big rose, stickles, smooch, and one of my papers is glittered. I think I'm covered for the two. I used molassas and pool smooch paints on the cut work roses - just painted it on and let it bump up the shine a bit.

Finally this will be my weekly AGC challenge, which is to use photographs that aren't quite perfect - either out of focus, poorly lit, blurry. I had an idea in my head when I took this, but the photo didn't turn out like I hoped, so I haven't used it on anything yet. I guess it's just been waiting for this project. The shine on the left -- I don't know why it's there. I didn't use a flash, so it's got to be reflected light from something else. :: shrug :: I don't know. Sorry.

Amy, I wonder if you have any idea how much I love you. Can you even begin to imagine the concept? I love the dimple in your right cheek. I love your cute little chin. I love your heavy, thick, dark hair - even when you dye it purple. I love the sparkle in your eyes when you get ready to tell a funny story. I love the compassion you show for your friends. I love your energy, your enthusiasm, your total zest for life. I love the shape of your fingers and the length of your legs. I love each of your seventy-two inches of tall girly frame. I love watching you sleep. I love that you come in and hug me "just because." I love hearing about your day. I love that you call me on the phone, just to say, "hi." I love that you love horses as much as I do. I love that you love the outdoors. I love when you ask for the car keys because you always say please. I love that you're always hungry, and I love when you make dinner. I love that you still sit on my lap. I love you my number two daughter, and I hope that you know that you will always be number one in my heart. Love, Mom.

Thanks so much for looking at my work. I appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Here's my tutorial for the mini roses from a paper bag.
