This is week #2 for Meg’s Round Robin challenge at Swirlydoos. And I do mean challenge: mine was to lift Nike’s stunning “Underwater Fun” http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/257769/view/2778497/-1/1.html

Nike’s design was so gorgeous that I did a true lift with some variation here and there. I chose to follow her monochrome lead: her underwater photo is blue; mine translated well to sepia. I loved her punched borders; while she used a variety of punches, I decided that my photo and colors called for a single pattern. I used some of my TSS metal stash and a Kabuka mold for one of my layers. I used the brown velvet that I had been hoarding from a previous Swirly kit to make the circle and the bottom layer of the heart. The watch face and filigrees are from the gorgeous “Antebellum Beauty” June Swirlydoos kit.

And, yes, I lifted the title!!!!! That’s a much younger me with my oldest son who, along with my husband, were visiting my parents for a week. All of the old wading pools had worn out and it was a hot day. My father (who was absolutely doting on his first grandchild) dug out an old galvanized washtub and scrubbed it down and filled it with water. Bill loved it, we used it every day that week….
