Wow Robin...scary is right. My heart was beating pretty fast as I read that. Thank God you and Krissy were right there...phew! This page is gorgeous. I could just o on and on....I love every little bit. Into my faves!
GORGEOUS!! I luv the bold color this radiates, it's very eye catching! And as always your perfect placement w/embellishments:) That photo is beautiful too!
Something similar happend to me one time, except it was my older daughter and a swimming pool. She just stepped off the edge and into the water over her head. She was -- two, I think. Slow motion is absolutely the only way to describe it.
Beautiful LO, Robin. And you'll have it to always remind you how precious and how fragile each single second really is.
Robin, this is so so so gorgeous, i love the colors and the design and you wonderful details. such a fav. that is so completely scary and i am so so glad she is okay, i hope she does break her fear of the water..
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL LO!!!!! WHAT A SCARY THING. THAT HAPPENED TO ME WHEN MY DD DID THE SAME THING, THE WATER WAS SO MUCKY I COULDN'T SEE HER, BUT I DID SEE THE BRIGHT COLORS ON HER SUIT AND GRABBED THAT, THANK GOD, REALLY SCARY!! I'M GLAD SHE'S OKAY!!!!!
WOW! Sary scary ...so glad it had a happy ending and that you encouraged her to face her fear and get back into the water. The Lo itself is stunning and I would never have guessed the scary story behind the pic if you hadn't told us because it looks like a fun summery LO!
What a scary event and I bet the water was really cold too - which doesn't help with the scare. Beautiful page and love the view of the looming dock in the background.
poor little girl;must have been so scary for her(and all of you!)Thank God you were right there with her!!you created a beautiful page to preserve the happy ending to that story!
Robin, such a frightening story; thank goodness that you and Krissy were so alert!!!!!
Well, you've turned it into a happy ending with these bright colors and embellies; such a gorgeous lift of Jan's original layout!!!! (Love the photo placement, too!!)
This is for the round robin challenge over at Swirlydoos. I followed Jan, her layout is gorgeous with definate shabby chic flair. Although I didn't go for the shabby chic, it was fun to do her design!! I LOVE circles!!
This layout is about a very scary and surreal event that happened to us last summer while we were camping up in mountains in CO.
Ashli, my grand daughter, was sitting on the edge of the dock (the small pic) with me, Krissy and Mason. In the blink of an eye, she was gone! I looked down and there she was, in the water, sinking! All I could see in the dark water was her terrified little face. I reached down into the water immediately, and suddenly everything was in slow motion. I saw my hand penetrate the water, saw the ripples, saw the water moving out of the way as my hand reached further and further down searching for her hand. Finally, I saw each of my fingers slowly wrap around her little hand one by one, then slowly pull her to the surface. Krissy was on the other side of her and was doing the same thing while she was holding Mason back. We both had ahold of her hands and pulled her up. She must have been over 2 feet down, the sleeve of my tee shirt was wet. This all happened in a split second in reality, but to me, time almost stood still, I don't think I have ever been so scared!!!
After she came up out of water, she was shaking with fear, crying, coughing and clinging so hard to her mom! She said she would never go into the water ever again!!! Well, as the larger pic shows, she finally did! We did a lot of talking and comforting, but she still wasn't real sure about it, and didn't go far, and stayed right by mom or dad!!
I was very proud of her that day, she ended up having a lot of fun in spite of being scared to death!!!!
