Journaling reads: "Notre Dame de Paris (in English: Our Lady of Paris), also known as Notre Dame Cathedral, is a Gothic, Roman Catholic cathedral on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris, France. Although we saw many of the other views/facades of Notre Dame, the one I have the most pictures of is the West Façade.
This façade is an imposing, simple and harmonious mass whose strength and sombre grandeur is based on interplay between vertical and horizontal lines: four powerful buttresses that spring up to the top of the towers, lifting them heavenwards.
I found the detailed architecture and all the carvings/statues on this building to be quite impressive. Everywhere we looked there was something else to marvel at: and that was just the exterior of Notre Dame. The inside and all the stained glass windows were even better!"
