Journaling:
In 2004, I was watching
TV one night..back in the day before
there was such a thing as a DVR and I had to
actually watch commercials. Anyway, there was a promo
for this new show called LOST and I noticed that it had Matthew
Fox (who I had crushed on since Party of Five) and Dominic Monaghan
who was fresh off his newfound celebrity starring as one of the
hobbits in the LOTR Trilogy. So Imentioned it to Brian and the night
of the pilot we tuned in. I had no idea that night how much LOST
would change TV. It was like nothing I'd ever seen in a TV series before
and for 6 years it totally enthralled me with it's characters, it's
mysteries and it's story line. Confusing at times? Yes...but that is
just the thing that made it so very enjoyable to watch. If they
had clued us in from the start..why keep watching? So I became
a devoted "Lostie". I never missed a live episode (including the night
we brought Avery home from the hospital after he was born.) I was with
them all when we had no clue who the "others" were and when we found out
what happened to the tail section of the plane. I was sad when Boone
died and then happy when Aaron was born. I fell in love with Sawyer
and Jack...both for different reasons. I loved to hate Ben Linus
and thought Richard was wearing eyeliner too. I cried buckets of
tears when Charlie died and still cringe when I think of the
whole "Nikki & Paulo" fiasco. I called the smoke monster "Smokie"
and used the DVR to freeze frame episodes hoping to find
clues. I pored over LOST Blogs and forums and read
Doc Jensen's articles religiously. I drove my family nutty.
and named my dog Hurley after my giant friend.
I totally bought it when Sawyer & Juliet got together
and was devasted when she died. I loved every single confusing,
mind-blowing, sentimental second from the
"The Pilot" til "The End".
