Bees? this is called Bee Balm or Bergamot. I always think they look like the hair of some Sesame Street puppet, mine are red and I always hear the Swedish puppet talking when I see them. when these flowers die and the dried heads are there they make the most interesting little balls full of holes.

Another shot of a neighbors flowers. There were tones of of these big bumble bees flying around these purple flowers and I tried for the longest time to catch a good shot, but every time one landed, its keister was facing me. Finally got this one.
