Journaling states: This is the fourth Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure that mom and I have participated in. We haven't missed a single race since mom was treated for breast cancer in 2005. My mother is a Godly, strong (some would say stubborn), and extraordinary woman. The day before this race she had carpal tunnel and tendonitis surgery and had to get up at 6 AM the very next day to make it to the race. She walked the entire 3.1 miles (although I'm not sure how much of it she remembers) with me encouraging her the entire time to take short cuts. My mother is truly and inspiration and I am so very proud of her!
