SHCG: What a wicked LO! ;) I am torn about cutting out the skyline as the colors in the buildings is similar to the bg and it might get lost. If you do cut it out, which would look great, find some way to mat it or outline it...white would be good. The gears would work, as Sharon suggested, due to the clock (which is awesome btw). I like the placement of the photos and agree either inking or as Amms suggested, doodling around them with a white pen (love my white pen!). I am leaning toward the journaling semi circle being lime green with red inked sides (this is the area where you are planning the gears etc right?). Inking in purple around the clock would be cool. I would suggest inking around Wicked in purple too (I use flair pens for doing letters). Awesome LO. Great use of lots of cool and fun ideas.
SHCG:I am lost on this LO,hmmmmm I don't get the sprockets either yet I like it and I like the way the title is done and that you are including the tickets. Sorry I wasn't much help :)
SHCG: I agree with Amms, cut the skyline ~ that would look great! I like your idea for the title. i like the idea for the semi circle on the bottom, maybe yellow or purple in there for color. I would suggest moving the picture of the book, it looks like it's in the way of the title. i say go with the sprockets and metal grears, goes with the clock and would look great in clusters. can't wait to see this when it's done :)
SHCG: I love the idea of cutting aroundthe skyline! I think your journaling semi-circle should be yellow because it would help to balance the yellow in the left page. I also think it would help if you either matted the photos in white or even doodles around the edges of the pics with a white pen.
SHCG - Awesome that you've decided to take on this challenge as well, I love reading about your different inspirations! I like what you've got going so far - the multi-pic placement, the actual memorabilia & the promise of mask-use in the background. I was actually thinking that the background needed sumpin (inking, background stamps) so seeing gear masks used, w/ a wash of darker ink, would be tres cool esp if it fits into the play's theme (but you can't use it for your mask BWC per your own rules, LOL!). I think the pics need something to make them stand out, perhaps some white inking which would echo the title letters AND look witchy/creepy against a dark-inked, green background. I like the idea of semi-circle journaling, could see it possibly on yellow cs (to coordinate w/ the Playbill) or red cs (to coordinate w/ the witch lips), whichever works best to you. Rockin start to this, Brenda!
Okay, so, thoughts... I like the idea of the half circle journaling block when you get there. I'm not feeling the whole gears and sprockets idea. I don't think it fits the theme the best and I think those might be overkill. Also, what if you take the skyline picture and move to the bottom left, move up the clock face and program. I wonder what that would do to the composition of this.
This is for the 2010 BWC #14: Get to Know Your CG Blog (by Sharon aka blushpea) which required us to incorporate inspiration from 5 links in the Scrap Happenzz blog. Marlene (1) shared 52 techniques on her blog and includes a link to the Dirty Scraps (2) blog which gave me the idea to do a "Wicked" page with masking. Wendy sells kits on Tidbitz In Time (3) that include Tim Holtz products which prompted me to get metal gears and gear masks to embellish my lo and were similar to the ones on the set of the musical. I also noticed shiny chipboard letters in one of Wendy's kits and remembered to use my shimmery Colorbok chipboard letters that MyN (Denitza) gave me for our birthday swap. Then I went to the Tim Holtz (4) blog for video demos of his products. Finally, I used a sketch on the Sketches by Suzy (5) blog to help me with this multiphoto spread.
Under construction: First of all, all the photos are now printed on photo paper, so the final product will have a better quality look to it. There will be an a above the W and time will be in script underneath WIC. There will be another wallet sized photo in the space under the white witch. The empty space on the rightmost side of the spread will have a semicircle with my journaling, but I'm not sure what to use for this. I also plan to add the Tim Holtz metal gears and sprockets and gear masks in the bg. I'm also seriously considering tinting the clock cutout on the left with purple ink. Whaddayathink? Wondering if I should cut around the city skyline at the top, too...
Critiques: Please make suggestions based on the above, as well as on placement, and anything you think will help tie the pictures and the entire spread together.
