More from our Spring 2010 Trip to Mountain View Arkansas. I got to watch the broom man make this broom by hand, telling the history of broom makers and then was fortunate enough to purchase the broom to bring home as one of my souvenirs from the trip. I thoroughly enjoyed this demonstration in the park, and learned new intersting facts too! I wanted the stitching on this layout to resemble the handstitching on the broom, and the colors of the broom corn (which isn't corn -- it's sorghum) Pen stitching around the journal boxes echoes the stitching around the PP. A well made broom once trimmed, will balance and stand on its own straight without falling over... that's broom corn from my broom on the layout, natural color, and some dyed orange.
