Details the etymology of my son's name and our reasons for choosing it in case he wonders someday, because I know I did. 52 Sketches # 37.

There are two hidden journaling blocks in this LO. The large one reads:

COLLIN c(ol)-lin – Pronunciation: KAH-lin. Like many given names, it has multiple origins, including: an Anglicized form of the Irish name “Coilin,” meaning “young chieftain”; an Anglicized form of the Gaelic name "Cailean" or "Coileain," meaning "whelp," "cub," or "young pup"; a diminutive form of "Colle," a short French form of Nicholas (Greek), meaning "victorious people"; a development of the Norse name "Koli," meaning "dark"; a Middle English surname given to those living on property whose ownership was disputed; from the Latin name Columba, meaning "dove," which is also sometimes considered the source of "Cailean."

The smaller hidden journaling block reads:

"We chose your name for its Irish roots. We gave you Burton as a middle name in honor of Daddy's grandfather. XOXO"

I love this picture. He was 2 1/2 months old when I took it, and was just beginning to demonstrate his incredibly happy, smiley personality. His crooked grin here is 100% my grandfather.

TFL!
