This is a LO about the TAMAR Turtle Project we visited in Praia do Forta, Brazil. The project strives to protect the endangered sea turtles. We were able to see the turtles hatch and run off to the sea. The crowd cheered as the last one was swept up by the ocean. Amazing!
"1 in 1000" refers to the chances of survival of the babies who are born and enter the sea.
Journaling: Seeing these baby sea turtles struggle off into the ocean was both amazing and disheartening knowing their chances of survival. It was thrilling to touch one myself!
