I took a little break from the baby pics and decided to do a mommy layout. I have this photo of my younger self surrounded by village children framed on my bookshelf. It's a good reminder to me of a pivotal time in my life and the lessons in humanity that my African brothers and sisters taught me. I owe them a lot.

The journaling says: On Nov. 6, 1996, I flew 7,376 miles from Washington, DC to Namibia in southern Africa. I knew no one on the plane and no one in my new home country, where I was to live for two years. I had joined the Peace Corps and was off on an adventure, which proved to be both the best of times and the worst of times. And it changed me forever.

The background paper is from the Basic Grey Wander collection; the suitcases are from Websters; and the maps and airplane embellie are Teresa Collins. I added the white border strip at the top (lightly inked) to make "clouds." You have to use your imagination, lol. Thanks for taking a peek.
