I think all your elements are so nicely coordinated, Jeannie! The mermaid looks terrific by the beautiful photo! Excellent colouring. I love how you designed this! BTW, if you are really unhappy with some elements and you wish to remove them, try using "un-do" (sold at this site). It has rescued me many times! But, I would leave it as is!
Having a son that's an aquarium fanatic, I was immediately drawn to this lo. I think it's fabulous! The seahorse is a leafy seadragon. We are in awe everytime we see one and we've been to several Aquariums.
So COOL! I am too afraid to even try steampunk. I think you did AWESOME!!!!! Love all the creative underwater elements!!!!!!!!!! I agree, you ROCKED it!!!
Jeannie! This is amazing! Your mermaid is awesome - did you draw her? I love how you embellished her - she totally makes the page! Your photo is very beautiful, too! I really like your layout, even if you don't. (we are our own worst critics!!)
Fabulous layout and so creative using photo's from the aquarium!! Your mermaid is gorgeous and I just love how you steampunked her!! Beautiful photo of your dd!!
Awesome! Love the mermaid..did you drawer her too? And love that scuba diver on the bottom and the strange looking sea horse!! I like this page...it is very steampunky!!
I don't think it's too busy at all - the photo is still the focus of the page - and (in my opinion) that's what matters most!! I love the seahorse - I've seen them like that in aquariums and they are so cool!
DD #1 by the Pacific Ocean. This is for the Aug Steampunk Challenge. I am not entirely happy with this. I know what it is..it's too busy... but some things are so glued down I can't take them off. Some elements are definitely dark and steampunky and then other things are too modern or cartoony. Oh well. I borrowed the steampunk sub and the deep sea diver from the internet..the sub is by a guy named Ramone Bosco I think. I made the mermaid and her orange hair is a nod to my other dd who still, at age 20, loves Disney's Ariel although this isn't supposed to be Ariel. She is highlighted with stickles and her fins with gold..which doesn't show up too well. I tried to make the mermaid steampunky with the gears for a bra and goggles...stuff she might have gotten off that sunken ship. She could have been a little more mysterious and dramatic. The jelly fish and that weird yellow thing in the bottom left are photos I took at the aquarium. That yellow thing is a sea horse...honest...a real one...he's called a leafy dragon. I glimmer misted and inked the edges of the lo..the glimmer mist made drops that look kinda like bubbles. The photo is matted with cs that I adhered a sand/glue product to that I bought at the expo. Looks so cool irl. Tiny letters are by MM.
