(journaling reads)Karly was 21 and in her senior year of college when her cousin Katie was born. I don't think she quite understood what all the fuss was about when I flew to Kansas to help out with this new baby (the first in our family in 20 years). Katie was around 3 months old the first time Karly saw her. During a visit to hear Karly sing at church, I handed the sleeping baby to her & wasn't too sure what the reaction would be when Katie woke and didn't know who was holding her. But a few minutes later, Katie opened her eyes, smiling and cooing at her cousin, as if she knew exactly who she was. Karly was hooked! These two have shared a very special bond from that moment on. They are alike in many ways (including their love of Teddy Grahams). What a great role model little Katie has in her cousin Karly!
