These are some of the photos I took while Randy and I were touring Illnacullen, also known as Garinish Island, in Ireland. All of the sub-tropical flowers are amazing enough, but what's really incredible is the fact that just a little over a century ago, the small island was nothing but a bunch of rocks with nothing else on it! The journaling reads: Randy and I felt like we entered The Secret Garden as we explored Illnacullen, a small island in the Bantry Bay. It was mind-boggling to think tat prior to 1910, it only consisted of barren rocks, completely devoid of trees, plants or even soil. Today it is described as a "Robinsonian wild garden held together by Italian formality." It contains tall coifers, rare and exotic plans and beautiful flowers of evey hue and description. The garden has glorious views across the water from lookouts, belvederes and an Italian pavilion.

This is a lift of Monique123's Nelspruit found here: http://www.scrapbook.com/myplace/index.php?mod=galleries&u=445221&m=view&id=2867335&type=-1&page=1&f=1
