They sell large flash drives now (thumbdrives they are also called). The small memory sticks that you can put in your usb port. I've seen 16GB ones for 28 dollars. You could copy them over to there, and then transfer them over to your laptop and just keep doing that until they are all moved off. Quicker than burning CD/DVDs. Cheaper than buying an external hard drive.

Lovely space !! Get yourself an external hard drive exclusively for your pictures, then or course burn them on CD/DVD as well and keep those at a family member or friend's house in case of a home disaster (heaven forbid). Or if the problem is that it uses those big floppy discs, then there are places online you can send them too to be transferred to CD/DVD....
