Another wonderful heritage photo. My Great-great grandfather. I had never seen a picture of him until last year when my cousin sent me this one digitally from Texas. As far as I know, it is the only picture of him that exists, and was mostly likely taken between 1920-1926. The companion page is entirely a historical write up about him. As young man, he served as a Confederate soldier in the 1st Battalion, Kentucky Mounted Rifles. When in his late 30's, he moved his wife and seven young children by wagon train from Kentucky to Kansas, where they proceeded to have two more children! It was hard for me not to fru-fru up this page, but he was such a stern looking fellow, I wanted the page to reflect that sort of austerity, while keeping the vintage flavor.
