A card I created for one challenge, called "Scrap-duel": the point is to make a card or a layout without using any special scrapbooking things, e.g. no pp, no ready-to-use embellishments, no punches, no stnecils etc. Only solid color paper, scissors, glue and stuff you can find around you.
So that's the card I made for this challenge.
Totally handmade, though not archive quality…
The base of the card is ivory watercolor paper. I used foam sealants to make the frame, covered it with magenta paper. Also I’ve done some stitching on the paper with white thread, and the corners are embellished with pergamano thingies (roses and hearts done by embossing and pricking on vellum). Used pricking in the left corner of the ivory background too: the rose pattern is pricked there too. The centerpiece is a newly wed couple. I was inspired by Ty Wilson’s posters, and used tiny paper stripes to make an alike looking picture – almost quilling. And some pencil strokes to color the pic. The bride’s belt is made of satin ribbon; the corset of her dress begged to be filled with something like beads, but beads were forbidden in the challenge, so I used millet! And covered it with pink nail polish. For the bouquet I used kids’ clay called ‘i-clay’, and a feather (from the pillow) colored with ink. The sentiment says “Be happy”, it’s embellished with the same tiny roses and a feather, nail polish and pricking. The little heart charms there are also handmade: they’re little wire frames filled with a drop of nail-polish. And the whole centerpiece is surrounded with rose-petals frame done in the technique of tissue stippling. To archieve that colorful irregular effect I had to color a plain white facial tissue with beetroot juice %)
All the patterns I used (stitching, pricking, embossing, quilling) I made myself =)
