This is truly amazing... it's much more art than it is scrapbook layout. Absolutely beautiful... you should be a children's book illustrator or something of the sort. Incredible talent (I feel totally outclassed! LOL)
Thank you so much for sharing, your work is truly inspiring.
What an incredible LO. Alot of love went into this one. I especially like the mountain and pull out letters...eyelets for wheels...great ideas. Good luck.
my gosh, I just realized how much paper you used! AHHH, did you leave any paper at the store for anyone else? Just kidding! It was worth it! Looks great!
AWESOME! I love this! Makes me want to reach out and touch it! I love the mountain range. The whole page reminds me of one of those pop up books or books on oragami or something. Stunning! I love it! Wow! I don't even know if I could do this for my son. Great job!
This layout is about how much fun my two-year-old son has wrecking his toy train-set, and how I love the way it makes him gleefully happy.
Thanks for looking!
Melanie
Journalling on the pull-out train-car tags reads:
T: Adam, you sure love your GeoTrax train set! "Come play train, Mommy! Play Train!"
R: Your favorite engine is the "blue one." You are very possessive and no one else can play with it, especially not Alex.
A: We all enjoy putting tracks together, but you are becoming more and more independent and want to do it all yourself. "Nooooo! I do it!" You haven't quite figured out how to get the ends to match up and create a complete looping track, yet. That doesn't keep you from having fun, though.
I: Adam, you know what happens when the track doesn't hook up right. Look at that devillish look on your face and the twinkle in your eyes. Do you care that the train is going to come off the track? Of course you do. Destruction is so much more fun!
N: Oh boy! Here it comes!
W: What happened to the train, Adam? "Fall, Mommy."
R: Adam, can you tell me why it is fun? What is it about little boys that makes you enjoy destruction, almost instinctively?
E: Up, up, up! You love it when I use every available piece of track to take the train as high as it will go, and then.... BOOM!
C: Your Daddy thinks it is great fun to create complicated track set-ups with lots of bridges and he always says we need more switches. You enjoy playing with him, but you don't get that gleeful grin I see when things are going to go badly for the "passengers."
K: Where is the fun in simply watching a train go 'round and 'round? To tell the truth, I enjoy the train wrecks we create together almost as much as you do.
