Toddlers can be challenging (and the sky is blue, lol). But just when you want to wring their little necks, they can turn everything around with a smile. This layout is all about the tension of that relationship and about how, no matter what, you just can't help loving your kids. Even when they are two. Very, very two.
Journalling inside the hinged heart reads:
I was thinking about you today. It is Valentine's Day and I was thinking about all the different facets of your personality, particularly some of the more challenging aspects that we have been seeing lately: the definace and continual testing of boundaries. I was thinking about you and how you can be so infuriating, but how, at the same time, I feel such a fierce protectiveness toward you. I guess that is what they mean by "unconditional love."
And then, when you came home from daycare with a chocolatty smile all over your face and played so nicely with your brother and sweetly wished your grandparents "Happy Valentine's Day!" over the phone, my heart melted.
