Love the stitching and the colors. The brick background turned out very well. There are so many details on this page and a lot of information. Perfect travel page. Did you use a Fiskars CardBoss template? That's what I used for my Barrel Oven lo.
Wow...you did so much work here!! The fact that you embossed the background yourself is enough to tell me that you worked hard on this fabulous layout! I went to Paris a long time ago--this layout brought back memories. :-) I hope to go back one day. Very innovative page! Especially that vellum flap!
Layout about Paris subway. Color scheme is based on the colors of subway seatings: orange&blue inside of the train and bright-green on the platform. The background paper is a simple ivory watercolor sheet embossed BY HAND! Yes, I'm kinda crazy, but I wanted to have brick texture like on the subway walls and couldn't find a ready-to-use paper. Used Fiskars plates for that. At the local store I found some funny buttons: orange and blue with stripes and a variety of green ones. And a sheer ribbon with the same gradient of two widths. I used felt (orange and blue) as mats and stitched the photos to the mats with a contract thread. Added a few subway tickets (they luckily had orange&blue marks too!). And a cardstock sticker "Matropolitain" The title in the upper left corner is done by painting the orange velvet paper with blue paint and I cut the letters with scissors (no die-cutting machine used =) ). Journaling is handwritten on vellum. And Also the right photo: of the seatings on the platform. I made a clear acetate flap, which can be lifted to view the photo, and on the acetate I wrote some journaling and glued the eyes to make the seats look like funny smileys =) More details can be found at: http://blog.whiteracoon.ru/2010/05/metropolitain-layout.html
