This two page layout is about a trip to Death Valley National Park. BADWATER is the name of the lowest point in the US. The sign is actually a photo of the sign that I printed on matte paper and cropped close. The sign post is a wooden stick that I inked with walnut ink.

Since I wanted the LO to be evocative of Death Valley's heat, I used shades of yellow and gold. The tan paper is sand paper to further the desert theme. I used my soldering iron to burn the edges of all pieces of paper and made my own "wordle" in PS using names of places in DVNP. I used the larger picture as a frame for the smaller picture of my shelties, Rusty and Flash. The copper colored metal brads reminded me of the old west.

Journaling: By March, we were ready for another road trip, so we drove to Death Valley National Park, the lowest spot in the continental United States. It is a place of stark contrasts with a special beauty all it's own. The shelties seem small and insignificant against the expansive natural back drop.
