I love your handmade embellies and I loved reading your very interesting description...you are such a good journalist Nicole! I don't sew, but I love looking at quilts and your LO very much reminds me of one. wonderful LO!
During a visit to Downs KS, my BFF and Her Mom and I stopped at a quilt shop we found while out on a day trip. It was the end of the day, and such an unexpected treat to get to see a new shop in Mankato KS and buy fabric for our stashes! 2009 I've been wanting to play with misting and my copics, and doilies, so I did all three, misting the doilies and hand cutting the tulip. It was a blast. The JB tulip PP corners remind me of 1930s depression quilt fabric and so much of the reproduction you see now of those fabrics today... I thought with the PP corners and solid background it kind of looks like a snowball block... Did some pen stitching to add to the sewing theme... Also picked tulip theme because we are both wearing floral tops, and the colors worked! And in scrappy quilter and scrapper fashion, I used scraps of green paper to make the tulip leaves... and its ironic, because I realized after cutting them, that I had used that green DCWV PP on another quilt shop layout! How cool is that?! As I've mentioned before... I'm not a precision scrapper, so the corners are hand cut, and not all the same size... adds to the "handmade" theme... that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
