SHCG: I really like your choice and placement of embellishments. Great layout. Actually the more I look at it the more fascinating it is using the embellishment rectangles with square photo to make them the same size as the rectangular photo. My only feedback is I wish the pattern paper with the ...dang I can't think of what they are called...the parsley...paisley...I wish that the paper with the paisley went completly to the next edge (or completely across). It looks a little choppy to me and by connecting to the next paper/photo it would "flow" a little better. "Food for thought" for next time.
SHCG: Another beautiful 2-pager! The pps are very pretty, the design is great, love the use of brads and the different size photos bring a lot of interest to this lo! great!
SHCG: (Sigh.) Summary los really are the solution to my shutterbug problem, but I'm just too stubborn to attempt self-editing. I love the color palette you chose for your Oregon spread. Nice use of that pp stack. I loved Oregon, too, though I didn't go to the same places. I really like your overall placement and how you fashioned these stair-stepped simple embellies from the neutral rectangles with trios of brads and stones. However, I'd stain 'em 'cause too much neutral can neutralize a page, kwim? I'm kinda with Chellby, missing your captions, but I also like the aesthetic of your spread without 'em. Spell check: at the end, creek (small stream) vs. creak (creepy sound). You made multipic scrapping look so doable... and so necessary. The simply adorned title is a really nice touch.
SHCG: As I first glanced at this page, I thought "WOW". Something about the layout and the colors is all visually perfect to look at. I especially like how you added the random sparkles with the gray background. Beautiful page!!
SHCG: Great job using so many pictures as always. I like the inking sround the pics. My only comment would be that the bottom two pctures on the right hand page don't seem to line up with the rest and my eye keeps focussing on that.
SHCG: The colors you used are awesome and the accent points are perfect (all the bits of paper, brads and bling). I like the brown inking around the photos as it fits with the earthy feel of the LO. This could be my personal preference but having either your little pieces of paper or writing on the photos as to who is in it or what is is would be a nice touch. I guess I look at it as if someone else is looking at the book/pages, I want them to know who or what it is. It is great that you captured all the feelings, from sad to happy, in your journaling.
This is a summary LO re: our 2008 trip to Oregon (where we hiked the notoriously steep Starvation Creek trail seen earlier here - http://www.scrapbook.com/myplace/index.php?mod=galleries&u=41507&m=view&id=2482637&type=-1&page=1&a=158921) . I adapted Sketches by Suzy sketch #9 (doing the right page sketch for both sides). I did this 2-pager at a summer scrap retreat, hence I had a lot of time to lavish on this...that hasn't been happening much at home lately, LOL! I'm really digging doing summary LOs re: vacations these days - it's challenging to choose only several pics to use but it's fulfilling too.
Journaling: "Oregon 6/2008 – Greg's & my trip started on a sad note – my Uncle Jhun died & I went to Houston for the funeral. BUT it was a lovely gathering of loved ones, I spoke at the service & I also helped Daddy write his speech. An incredible time w/ family despite the somber reason – there were smiles amidst the sorrow. Parents took me to Aloha Grill Hawaiian restaurant – LOVED it! After TX, I met Greg & some of the family (Charlie, Shelly, Barbara) in Portland, OR for Patty's med school graduation! So proud of Dr. ___ - finishing med school & giving birth to Esti during the same few years - greatly admirable! Very nice to see Greg's side of the family & adorable Esti. Marvelous Middle Eastern eats at Nicholas'! Then, Greg & I went off on a separate getaway to Hood River (2nd yr in a row). Comfy & enjoyable rental property Base Camp. Shirley came too – FUN!! Hood River's the “windsurfing capital of the world” but we had a hard time finding any! Then when Jeff, Patty, Esti & Reggie met us, we hiked the unforgettably steep (but still enjoyable) Starvation Creak. Ahh…travels made even more special w/ the presence of beloved family! "
