What an absolute fantastic lo, love all your hand drawn flowers and words, you are very talented and creative, really, I am in awe of your work, this is how I would like to be able to scrap one day, also your daughter and her friends are just beautiful and truly inspiring, I would imagine you are very proud of her!!! Thank you for sharing this truly amazing piece of art!!!!! :)
Another one that I'm sure I left praise for, but can't find it now. So just need to say that this is gorgeous and you are so talented. Love all your hand drawn accents. The journaling is very moving. This is a wonderful page.
Absolutly WONDERFUL. It makes me stop and think how lucky I am to have two healthy children. You did an AWESOME job on the LO and your DD is doing an AMAZING job on living. The best to the both of you.
WOW, phenonmenal.....your drawing and handwriting are something else!!! You should design your own line!!! Love the picture and love your heartfelt journaling. This is fantastic. Good luck in the contest!!!
This is such a fun, yet stunning layout. I love the pastels, the flowers, the hand lettering and most of all, the essense of your title - something I'm sure your daughter has always wanted - to not be the "only" one with diabetes; to not be the only "noticed" one, the "different" one. I know, because my 23 year old daughter has had diabetes since she was 9. I'm so glad that the camp was able to help your daughter. I wish you well. Great job on the layout.
I honestly do not know what to say. What a tremendous piece of work. You should consider applying for the Carolee's Creations Apprentice. Check out their blog on their My Place! You could design your own line of products that they would turn around and sell as scrapbook paper. Your work is amazing. So much for me not knowing what to say, eh?
Being the sole female in my house, I always slobber over the "girly, girl" stuff. This is truly exceptional work! Flowers and lettering are absolutly gorgous! Someone should be paying you to do this!!
Thanks for the warm comments. I can't begin to tell you how good these posts have made me feel! I really appreciate you taking the time to look.

Awesome! You are sooo creative and this is just beautiful! Your journaling is touching too, especially since my neice has grown up with juvenile diabetes. she is now 21 years old and people don't understand the stress and the battle that these young ones fight. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us. And your daughter and all her friends are just beautiful!!!
When I heard of this contest, I honestly thought that I could produce a page that would be good enough to get at least an honorable mention. Admittedly, I had a lot of fun on my pages. But, the greatest joy has been finding real artistic talent and meaningful stories like you have submitted. It is beautiful, it is a REAL life story of courage and my best wishes go to you and your daughter and her camp mates. Wonderful level of devotion and a terrific page!
Ooooohhhh!!! I LOVE it!! Everything! The handwritten title and flowers especially! Beautiful group of girls. My dd is 9 and she has 3 girls (one happens to share the name Morgan) in her small class that have diabetes. Your dd reminds me of my dd Carley. When I showed it to her, she said, "Is that me??" And once she looked closer, she realized it wasn't!
WOW, WOW, WOW so very creative!!! Just love it all...you should try out for Carolee's Creations big contest(check out details on thier "My Place"). I think you'd be great and have alot of fun! Putting this lo into my favs, good luck girl!
Wow! This is art! And what an inspirational story. I had gestational diabetes and understand how life altering the illness is. I'm so happy that your beautiful daughter has found friends and support. What a great layout!
What an awesome and inspiring layout. The art work is ubber cool! The photo is precious and the overall everything is a 10! lol Thank you for sharing this gem.
There is a tag that goes with this one (see next frame). The following is written on the back of the layout:
Our daughter Morgan was diagnosed with Diabetes when she was 2 1/2 years old. For the longest time, she thought she was the only one her age that had this disease.
At 8 years old she was able to start going to Lion's Camp for a week every summer. This past summer was her third year to attend. Every year when we go pick her up, I am reduced to tears when I see 250+ other kids that are just like her all in the same place at the same time.
The friends that she has made have truly helped her to cope with her disease. For them (and Lion's Camp) we are thankful!
When I look at this picture, the first thought that comes to heart and mind (every time) is "You would never know" - when I stopped searching for the perfect title... it occurred to me that it had been there all along.
You really would never know to look at them that these 5 girlfriends fight with their diabetes, blood sugars, counting carbohydrates, shots, insulin pumps, the "why me" feelings and ALL ELSE that goes with their daily care. They don't look any different than all of their regular school friends.
They truly are an inspiration to me! They (and all others that live with a chronic illness) are my HEROES.
"Mariah, Hailey, Morgan, Whitney and Carsen... ROCK ON!"
Note: Our daughter Morgan is the tall one in the middle. They are listed in the sentence above in the order they appear in the picture.
