My great grandparents on the Taylor side. John Cecil Taylor and Rosa Lee Daniels. The photos were taken in 1944, 1979, and 1932. This is for my Taylor history book.
I used two borders of orange/white paper above and below the photos and used two borders for the center photo. Three metal charms are on the bottom ribbon of the photo frame.
The journaling reads: John Cecil Taylo was born January 12, 1907 at Olney, Oklahoma. He was about 14 when he left home looking for work. His first job was feeding animals for the Beatty Brothers Circus. After one season, he left and went to work at the Seminole oil fields for a while.Next, he worked for Mary Kennedy, a full blood Choctaw woman doing farm work. He held this job for several yearsbefore returning to Olney in 1927. John Cecil married Rosa Lee Daniels October 20, 1928 at Hardwood Corner. This is very close to Olney. Now a young maried man, he took a controlling interest in the family saw mill. While operating the saw mill, he sawed lumber for the Olney School Gymnasium and many other buildings in the area. In April 1944 he joined the navy where he learned mechanics. He was discharged in December of 1945. He returned to the saw mill after the navy. In 1955, John Cecil built a mechanics shop. He also added a building where Rosa was able to sell bread, soda, candy, cigarettes, and Prince Albert. This was the only place in Olney to purchase these items as well as gasoline and tire repair. John Cecil and Rosa Lee had four children together; Albert and Alice were twins, Thomas Cecil, and Jack Lee. John Cecil died October 20, 1986 at Talihina, Oklahoma after being sick for a while. Rosa Lee Daniels Taylor died August 22, 1986 in Coalgate, Oklahoma. They are both buried at Rose Hill cemetery in Wapanucka, Oklahoma.
There is hidden handwriiten journaling behind the center photo about Rosa's parents.
