Journaling states: September 27, 2008. My 36th birthday weekend. I had the brilliant idea of going wine tasting for my birthday this year. Not a very good idea with a two and a half year old, but we did it anyway. We decided to take a drive up Hood River and check out the wineries there. It was a beautiful day and the weather was just right, still very much summer, but a nip of fall in the air. We stopped at many wineries until Evan fell asleep and we couldn't leave him in the car by himself, so we just drove until he woke again. Evan was quite grumpy and didn't appreciate the vineyards as much as we did, but we still ended up getting some lovely pictures and getting some yummy bottles of wine. It was a very fun birthday weekend despite one whiny toddler.
