This is very pretty. I love the way you misted everything. I would love to be able to fly a kite but it is kind of hard when you are in a wheelchair most of the time. I love watching them fly though.
Wow Peggy!! this is spectacular!! love all the techniques that you used!! thank you so much for mentioning my Etsy Peggy!! you are so sweet!! Thank you!!
Oh nice handmade background there! I have yet to play with gesso...haven't gotten around to that yet...but it does give a really cool texture to pages!
This is BEAUTIFUL Peggy! Very creative and you most definitely created a beautiful piece of art from nothing! I really love how you did the photo too!!!
I’m doing double duty with this layout and entering it twice over at Swirlydoos in Angelica’s monthly butterfly challenge and in the “Something from Nothing” contest that’s being hosted by Lisa (StarSailor).
I covered the Bazzill cardstock with swipes of Gesso and scraped it around with the edge of a plastic key card. I then applied the book pages and scraped some more Gesso on top. I then dried it with my heat gun, overheating the edges of the pages to give them more of an aged look. I then applied a few spritzes of glimmer mist to tone down the white. Next, I did some masking with walnut ink and some stamping with distress ink. Unfortunately, the distress ink was a lot juicier than normal, so when it dried, I applied a bit more Gesso to tone that down. I also inked (this time with the foam pad) the Pink Paislee element and the beautiful migrating bird that I bought in Lidia’s Etsy shop. A few bits of trim here and there and one of Lisa’s marvelous butterfly images (available at Swirlydoos) printed on transparency paper complete the layout.
